Ayers, Smithdeal & Bettis, P.C. is centrally located between Greenville, Spartanburg, Columbia, and Augusta in beautiful Greenwood, South Carolina. We are trial lawyers, with a litigation practice principally focused on cases involving workers' compensation, automotive and trucking accidents , wrongful death and personal injury, medical and nursing home negligence, social security   disability, products liability, premises liability, and bad faith insurance claims. Our attorneys are admitted to practice in all South Carolina State and Federal Courts.

In addition to our trial practice, we also have a general law practice. We handle a variety of legal matters including real estate transactions, wills and probate estates, wage claims, employment matters, civil rights, criminal defense, and legal document drafting. Our highly trained staff has many years of legal experience and are here to help ensure that our client's business is handled efficiently, promptly and professionally. 

Ayers, Smithdeal & Bettis, P.C. has three trial attorneys and a dedicated support staff. Judson Ayers is a former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, has over forty years of trial experience and is a Board Certified member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Joe Smithdeal has successfully completed training at the Trial Advocacy Institute of the University of Virginia School of Law, and he practices in both State and Federal Court. He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the South Carolina Association for Justice. Chad Bettis is an experienced trial attorney who has handled a wide variety of cases in State and Federal Courts. He is a former Eighth Circuit Representative for the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates. All the attorneys at Ayers, Smithdeal & Bettis, PC have been lead counsel in numerous trials and are members in good standing of the South Carolina Bar, the South Carolina Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice.
